We
are
Oliba.

We are a collective of creatives working on a wide range of projects including: graphic design / logo design / branding / websites / visualisation / film / photography / interior design / retail design / event production / furniture / the list goes on.

Oliba is predominantly me, Oly Whiteley. I’ve been working as a creative for over 15 years in various sectors, although creativity’s really in the blood. From a young age I’ve always being experimenting and adapting whatever I can get my hands on to try to improve it. Whether that’s turning a load of scrap into a space rocket, building a garden out of old rocks or painting landscapes with surplus emulsion.

I believe good design, creative thinking and an eye for detail can be applied to help improve anything. Anything from the flow of people through an event village to planning a social media campaign. That’s how I’ve always got results, by thinking outside of the proverbial box and by putting a creative process in place.

Because every job is different and every client is different, I select a team with specific skillsets to match each project’s needs. Over the years, I’ve built up a network of extremely talented & dependable creatives to ensure exceptional results time and time again, from photographers & videographers to graphic designers & artists. Together, we can help your business fulfil its creative ambitions.

And, if you’re wondering.…

Why
OLIBA?

Well, at the age of 21, I won a scholarship to attend the Musashino Art University, Tokyo. In Japan the sound ‘ver’ is difficult to pronounce and is often substituted to ‘ba’. So I became Oliba, much to the delight of my friends & family back in the UK! I even signed my name:
ォㇼバ ー

So, you now know why we’re called Oliba. You know a little bit about me and the team of creatives I work with. You know the range of projects we take on and you’ve probably got a hunch whether or not we can help you. So now it’s your turn now, please get in touch. We’d love to discuss your project further.

 HELLO.

Hi, I’m Oly. I’ve been designing things for as long as I can remember, from furniture to fancy-dress and even the occasional spaceship!

I’m now a self-employed designer creating ‘proper’ things, such as websites and logos, for a variety of companies that need design work or creative input.

Projects range in size from creating new brands with all the associated content (logos, website, printed media, etc.) to small jobs like simply tweaking an existing logo.

I design things for digital, such as social media or websites, or for print whether that’s labels for beer bottles, posters or magazines.

So, why the name? Why Oliba? Well, in my twenties I won a scholarship to study in Tokyo, at the Musashino Art University. In Japan, the ‘ver’ sound is difficult to pronounce and is often replaced by ‘ba’. So Oliver became Oliba. I even signed my name: ォㇼバ ー
