Blackpit
Brewery.

my role: creative director, including hands-on building of Brand assets, identity, Graphic design, online presence, print design, clothing & merchandise, events, interior design.
2017-20.

Blackpit started after a conversation in the pub between three friends. The difference was to create a lifestyle brand behind the beer that would drive the audience to buy Blackpit time and time again.

I was one of the founders and took creative control of the brand, designing the majority of what you see. From the taproom, to the bottle labels, to the clothing range. I implemented a marketing strategy to build a strong fanbase with a high engagement both online and in the real world.

Although I built and designed the majority of what you see, I also pulled on the ‘Oliba’ network of freelancers who brought next-level skills with tasks such as: photography, videography, PR and paid online advertising. I would actively work with these freelancers to ensure that what they delivered was on-brand.

A large part of the marketing plan, for Blackpit, was to utilise our skills hosting events and take advantage of the beautiful landscape the brewery’s located in. We built The Festival of Beer, a family fun weekend away with everything from stand-up-paddleboarding to pig racing… not to mention excellent beer, from a variety of breweries, and delicious street-food. We also built an immersive bonfire night with a huge narrative and a larger fire, more details of which can be found here.

Blackpit’s still very much alive today but I chose to move away from it to focus on this, the Oliba Creative. I love the brewery, the beer it produces and everything the brand stands for… but I really love being creative and working on new projects every day, so hence I’m here!
