A Past Life:
Pre-Covid
Before Covid, I was in a business partnership that started with us growing Silverstone Woodlands Campsite. We took a basic campsite offering (with 2,000 people attending a field for the F1) and grew it into a festival-style event with 18,500 attendees, 6 music stages and over 80,000 pints being served!
Working within a Creative Director role, I ensured everything looked good whether that was ‘on-the-ground’ or digitally on-line. Using the campsite as a base, we had various spin-off events and projects… from a brewery to a bar business, hosting extreme trial runs to woodland banquets. It was a highly enjoyable 10 year period; long days and lots of hard work that honed my creative and business skills.
Covid gave me a chance to reflect on my work/life balance and I decided to go self-employed to allow more time with my family and hobbies, including sailing. Work’s expanding, with a growing and happy client list… and I've managed to sail across the Atlantic, twice. The plan seems to be working. Fingers crossed!
